We have a short window here if the Republicans stick to the idea of not confirming during an election year.
It was only the "election year" (after January) for Obama because he was lame-duck (couldn't run for 3rd term). Trump, presumably, esp now that "Russiagate" has blown up in the Dems faces, will be running again. He'll only be "lame duck" after Nov election if he loses re-election.
FWIW, if Trump is re-elected, there will be enough judges over 70 yo in the Ninth Circuit that he'll have a good chance of making it majority Republican! For the first time in my lifetime, the Ninth might be "conservative" (i.e., obey & uphold the Constitution).
