Great day for the UK
« on: June 24, 2016, 07:44:07 AM »
So.. the UK exits the EU and Cameron resigns stepping down by Oct this year. This I'd say will only bolster the others countries who have been talking and showing interest in breaking away as well. The end of the EU started today...

Whether this is good or bad for us is yet to be seen, but this is a fantastic example of a country making a decision based on what they feel is best for them -- and making the decision for themselves.  With every decision made in America, we have to hear the low to high roar of the rest of the world, shouting their displeasure with us and their concerns for what we decide.  The welfare system is so rampant that even countries are looking to belong to some kind of organization that will redistribute the wealth to them.

Very few guns are actually "illegal guns."  A gun misappropriated by a criminal is no more of an "illegal gun" than a stolen car is an "illegal car."

Great to see England leave the "One World Order"

I agree. I remains to be seen actually what transpires, but I believe the that UK did the right thing.

Another half dozen countries are already talking about and I suspect more will follow suit, likely within the next several months I'm sure. Not all will vote right away but wait to see how things progress for the UK and those few that follow. I suspect a few to vote within 6-12 months however.

I've never agreed with the EU nor the UN nor any other foreign entity that believes they should have any say whatsoever in the matters of an individual country. I believe the UK will grow and thrive now that they have cut EU ties though not without some pains in the short term.

Was watching financial analysts this morning and the sensationalizing and fear talk was incredible shameful. Markets will drop which is a known fact, mostly due to automated selling however things will bounce back and typically do. I couldn't believe some networks had "experts" saying people should sell everything and wait until the market settles to reinvest in the markets. I mean wow!

As far as the US goes.. I hope nothing gets written in stone until after our elections. The UN is screaming that the UK needs to pull out right away and as they said "gone is gone". While I agree, don't think for a second that's not a push, at least in part, to have deals made before our elections this fall.

It'll be quite exciting to see how the events unfold of the next couple months and years for sure!

The good people of England took back their country. They did not want any foreign group telling them how to run their country. Yes socialism failed for the Brits and I just hope our fellow citizens have learned something from this. There have been reports that the French could follow.   Later,

I believe Denmark may be the next to leave the EU.

Add Sweden, Greece, The Netherlands, Hungary and France for varying reasons and many have been outspoken about the EU for quite sometime now. Added to the mix is Scotland seriously looking to split from the UK and this could be the turning point for them to do so.

Like I said.. Some very interesting times happening in the near future how this all plays out.

Main stream media, the liberal aristocracy and the beltway crowd are acting as if the sky is falling.

Must be a good thing then.

Anytime sovereignty is brought closer to home it is a good thing. Rule and regulation by bureaucratic dictators in Brussels has been rejected.  Remember a few years ago when Brussels tried to ban dipping bread in olive oil in restaurants.

The hyperbole of the "remain" side was really off the wall.  Look at Norway and Switzerland.  They seem to be doing fine without being members of the EU

Sadly.. most countries, including the US have lost their sovereignty for the most part these days. Hopefully this helps the UK regain some of its sovereignty.

There must be a feeling of total despair when an entire country loses it's heritage.  Especially a proud country with hundreds of years of prosperity.  Good thing that could never happen to us.  Because unlike the Brits we would take our country back!

I know.  It's just despair speaking.

Looks like the plan now is to have a second referendum and require a 2/3 vote.  They are already saying the vote is not binding.

Typical politicians.

Pretty clear today that the powers that be will not let this happen.

Violating  the will of the people is ok if democracy doesn't give the right result.  And guess what those poor saps can't do a thing about it.  Confiscated all that nasty stuff years ago.

This... This is pretty much how civil wars start. The government shows it true colors and total disregard for the peoples wishes anymore.
